Welcoming new staff to JRCT

We’re delighted to have welcomed two new members of staff to the JRCT team in the last month. Nancy Perez and Eliza Broadbent bring new expertise, knowledge and experience to our work. 

Nancy has joined JRCT as a programme administrative assistant, and will be providing support to our programmes teams, with a focus on Grassroots Movements.

Nancy is a Mexican human rights lawyer who migrated to the UK in 2022. She been involved with grassroots movements, NGO’s and international human rights organisms for almost a decade with a focus on the rights of people deprived of their liberty, people with disabilities and women in the Latin-American region.

She holds a bachelor's degree in law and an LLM in law and social justice from the University of Leeds. Nancy has a personal and academic interest in exploring ‘the right to care’ within the Latin-American context which is rooted in life experience.

Eliza has joined the Peace and Security programme team as a programme assistant. She completed an MSc in Gender, Peace and Security at LSE where she developed her interest in conflict prevention and feminist peacebuilding. She also has a BA in History from the University of Leeds.   
 
Eliza has worked with human rights and peace organisations, such as the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), on campaigns for disarmament, climate justice, and women, peace and security.
