The Trust aims to make grants at a level that is sustainable in real spending terms. We believe that the most effective way to align our investments with our values is to use fund managers who take a responsible investment approach. The Trust seeks to avoid material investments in armaments, gambling, tobacco and new generation nuclear power. The Trust also engages with companies to encourage good practice on a range of environmental, social and governance issues. We often undertake such engagement in partnership with grantees or other foundations.
