Claire is an independent investigative journalist working at the intersection of national security, human rights and technology. She is a regular contributor to Declassified UK and co-directs the Spyware and Surveillance in the Telecoms Industry project at Unredacted. Between 2014 and 2017, she headed research and investigations at Privacy International. She has previously investigated for Global Witness, Human Rights Watch, BBC, Al Jazeera and public interest law firms. She also trains activists globally to develop their investigation skills, including in high-risk environments. Claire is training to become a forensic psychologist. She attends Wanstead Quaker meeting.
