Alison brings 20 years leadership experience in small charities, including seven years running a Rape Crisis centre in her local community.  Alison believes the direct work of supporting vulnerable communities must be matched by challenging the causes of injustice and violence, an approach which has been integral to her own work.

Alison has also worked supporting grassroots volunteer groups, and as a grants fundraiser.

Alison's governance experience includes service on the board of Rape Crisis England and Wales, as the North West representative. During her six years as a trustee of Quakers in Britain she held roles building strategic partnerships, championing anti-oppression, and asking a lot of questions about impact. Alison is currently a trustee of Dadafest, a disability arts organisation based in Liverpool.

A lifelong Quaker, Alison is a member of Wirral and Chester Area Meeting.  She most often worships at Frandley Local Meeting and at Jordans annual Quaker Camp with her family.
