Join our board: JRCT seeks Chair and Trustees

We are looking to recruit a chair and additional trustees to our board in 2024.

The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust is a Quaker grant-making trust that supports people addressing the root causes of conflict and injustice. Currently, our funding priorities are spread across six areas: Peace and Security, Power and Accountability, Rights and Justice, Sustainable Future, Northern Ireland, and our pilot programme, Grassroots Movements.

Since 2020, the Trust has been reflecting on its role and power as a philanthropic organisation. We have been exploring how to engage and support wider movements of change, the importance of resourcing lived experience and racial justice work, and how to contribute meaningfully to transformational change.

We are interested in speaking to people actively involved with Quakers and welcome applications from Friends/attenders of all ages and backgrounds to this rewarding voluntary role. We can cover expenses, including travel and childcare, to ensure financial constraints are not an obstacle.

Being a trustee for JRCT can be a life-affirming, enriching role which gives you the chance to meet and support a range of organisations often working with great commitment at the cutting edge of their fields. Our trustees are appointed for an initial term of 5 years, renewable for a further 5 by mutual agreement.

If you are interested in applying, you can download the job pack for more information and details on how to apply here.

The closing date for applications is midnight, Sunday 30 June.
