Climate Emergency UK - a Power and Accountability programme grant holder - is reaching out to people and organisations working on local climate action. The organisation has a wealth of knowledge relating to climate action on a local government level via its Council Climate Action Scorecards. Here's some more information from Annie at Climate Emergency UK.
At Climate Emergency UK we create and use our Council Climate Action Scorecards as the foundation to inspire and support those pushing for local climate action across the grassroots climate movement and within local government to reach net zero at the pace and scale needed. We do this through research, training and advocacy. By providing transparency on councils’ climate action across the whole of the UK we equip residents with knowledge in data and best practice case studies to advocate for and accelerate council climate action.
As a small organisation, we are always looking for ways to share the wealth of knowledge that is in our Action Scorecards with the broad climate movement as well as those working with local government or nationally. The data and evidence in our action Scorecards cover biodiversity, governance, funding, planning policies and other areas which we know are of interest to a wide variety of actors including charities, legal action groups, businesses, think tanks and more. If you have a question about local climate action, check out the Scorecards first and get in touch with us. We're more than happy to share our work or work with others to accelerate local climate action in the UK
